Headline... "3 Year Old Arrested for Shoplifting!"

So last week was a crazy week. Every night there was something going on. The week started off with Rita's dance recital. It was for her ballet class and it was pretty low key, but very cute! So of course when we were done the kids wanted a treat, but Tommy and Sheridan "reminded me" (that is code for told me for the first time) that they needed something for Tuesday. So I decide to run by Target to get what the kids need and pick up some ice cream for the kids as their treat. Rita is in her ballet outfit and looking very cute. She is however not cooperating with staying close to me. I let the kids pick out what ice cream they want and of course Rita picks something with Dora the Explorer. We proceed to the check out and Rita start asking for apple juice from the snack bar. I told her no and of course she kept asking. I am paying and getting the bags. Then I look up and Rita has proceeded to go to the snack bar. I start over there and a "nice man" opens up the refrigerator, Rita reaches in and gets an apple juice. I giver her "the look" as I head over to her, but she proceed to run out of the store apple juice and all straight for the parking lot! I run as quickly as I can yelling at her to stop, not drawing any attention to myself whatsoever, and head outside. I pick her up, carry her inside, put the apple juice( where the nice man apologizes for opening the refrigerator) all while she is crying," I want me apple juice!" I explain to her that you can not take things without paying and of course she wants me to pay for her apple juice. She has forgotten that I just bought her Dora the Explorer Popsicles! So a nice evening turns into stealing and yelling! Fitting for a Monday Family Home Evening huh?

An eventful weekend

Tommy's cub scout pack was in the San Benito, TX Christmas parade. The boys dressed up as the nativity scene. Tommy was a shepherd. Sheridan had to get in on the excitement too and was also a shepherd. There were probably girl shepherds right? So Rita, Miles and I went to downtown San Benito and watched the parade. It was quite an adventure to say the least. I survived, but it was definitely weird doing it myself. I thought the cub scout parents would be together but most of the ones that went walked along with the kids in the parade. The kids had fun so it was a success. Luckily it was not too cold. Sheridan's hands did get cold because she was waving the whole time. Imagine that Sheridan sitting on a float, everyone looking at her and waving! She was in heaven!!! Next time we will have to make sure she has gloves.

The excitement continued on Sunday when Rita was standing on the ottoman and fell hitting her mouth on the coffee table. There was blood, crying, more blood and crying. She would not let me look at her mouth to see how bad it was. We put some ice on it and she fell asleep. After she woke up I was able to look at it and it looked pretty bad. The gum is all black, but luckily the tooth is not loose. I hope the tooth does not turn black. I am debating if I should take her to the dentist. There would probably not be anything they can do. She does have a lot of swelling. She looks like one of the who's from Whoville. The ones from the new Jim Carey version. Hopefully it will be better by tomorrow before her dance recital. If not it will make for a cute picture!

My new blog

I started another blog that would be more about my journey thru this whole experience. The URL address is "thejourneyofjacqui.blogspot.com" . Just started it so nothing fancy, but check it out when you have a chance!

Can I save it for later?

Crazy days end up being crazy nights. Rita keeps me laughing but she is so frustrating at times. I still have a hard time keeping a straight face when I discipline her, John was help for that! Well, she has really gotten into gum. Somewhere she keeps getting gum. Luckily I have learned that peanut butter gets gum out of hair, a fact that I did not know when Sheridan was Rita's age. Anyway, I was trying to get Rita to bed (a feat in itself!) and I noticed she had gum. I have no idea where she got it, but I told her she had to throw it away before it got in her hair, again. She looked at me, gave me the smile, took it out of her mouth, rolled it in a ball and put it under her chin/neck! She wanted to keep it there for later! The question is has she done this before and I just have not noticed that there is gum on her neck. Maybe she is just chewing the same piece over and over and over? Now I know to look!

Beware of the rumbly in my tumbly

So I did not feel good yesterday and decided to stay home from church. Just did not feel up trying to control 4 kids at church when not 100%. So one of my friends from church made vegetable soup and home made wheat bread. She brought it over when the bread was just out of the oven and smelled wonderful. So I decided to have a slice. It was really good, so one slice turned into half a loaf! No worries because I eat lots of fiber one bars right? Wrong! Just because this is the real stuff, fresh ground wheat. The TRUE whole wheat. Everything seemed fine until I work up. My stomach was just not right. So I decided to skip breakfast. I figured I ate half a loaf of bread I shouldn't be hungry right. All day my stomach just did not feel right. I ate a salad for lunch and things seemed to be OK. Well the day progressed and the cramping began. I swear I felt like I was having contractions again and in labor. (This is where there may be too much information!!!!) So I then have to go to the bathroom, but the WATER IS OFF AT WORK! Not good. I can wait right? They said it would only be an hour or 2. Three hours later......still no water. Well I can't hold it anymore and figure there is at least one good flush so I go to the bathroom. (Note to self.....do not eat half a loaf of REAL wheat bread!) Well, I then go to flush and it seems someone has taken advantage of the one good flush! UGH! Luckily it is the end of the day and most everyone in the dept is gone. So I put a sign on the door "out of order" so someone else does not go in there to flush it. Surely the water will be on before I leave, it has been over 3 hours. I wait as long as I can but there is still a grumbly in my tumbly so I decide I need to go somewhere there is working indoor plumbing. That means leaving the toilet unflushed!!! GROSS! I add to the sign "Do not enter." I figure I will go in the morning and tackle the beast of a toilet with my Lysol. I sure hope no one else goes in there first! Lesson learned......Whole Wheat bread is good, just not a half a loaf at a time!

My Chunky Monkey

I decided to go grocery shopping Saturday night after we went to a baptism. We had not had dinner, but did have some yummy cookies and brownies at the baptism. So I decide to just "run in real quick" with the kids to get a few things. Everything went pretty well except I forgot Miles' pacifier. We ran into Tommy's teacher from last year and I started catching up. (She is battling breast cancer) So as I am talking to her and holding Miles he starts SCREAMING. Not crying but SCREAMING. I tried to calm him but it did not work, so I figured it was because he wanted to get down. So I put him down and he stopped crying. Magic! But then I looked over to where he was looking and started walking and he was walking to the bananas! We were by the Milk and they had a display of bananas, Miles recognized them and he WANTED them! I guess next time I should make sure he eats dinner! The good thing was he was happy carrying the banana and we were on our way to check out!
